How to post a job description to the ICI website:
You can post a job position announcement to our
website through one of two methods:
- Send an email with the job description or attach
a Word document (or equivalent) to Patrick
Alles.
- Complete the online form on our website. The
website accommodates information for the following
areas:
- Job title
- Application deadline date
- Starting date
- Institution name
- Job duties
- Qualifications
- Salary/Benefits
- To Apply instructions
- Equal Opportunity Employment/Affirmative Action
statement
We encourage you to supply a statement for each
section, even if it's a general statement such as
"Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with
experience"
Formatting
The text for your job posting can be entered into the
form without any formatting. When the posting is
displayed to the user, each section will be divided out,
making the posting clean and easy to read. If you
wish to embellish the text display, you will need to
know html, or use the html "tags" below.
(We are currently looking to develop an inline
formatting tool, much like you would find in programs
such as Microsoft Word.
Any html tag can be used, with a sample provided
here:
BOLD: <b>your text</b>
ITALICS <i>your text</i>
Underline: <ul>your text</ul>
Once posted, here's how your job description makes it
to the website:
- Once your job description is submitted, an email
is generated to the webmaster and our communications
director for editorial review (spelling, grammar,
formatting, etc.) with any necessary corrections
being made. They will also assure that the job
posting appears on the website in a professional
manner.
- Postings will also be verified as an official
posting of your university.
- Once posting content and authenticity are
confirmed, the posting is "approved" and
will begin to appear on the ICI website according to
the posting date.
- The posting will remain on the website until ICI
is notified that the position has been filled or
the posting is no longer necessary.
- The posting will be stored in a database and can be made available to other members
who are looking to formulate a contemporary job
description. If you do not want this posting
shared, please indicate so when submitting or let
us know by email.
