In this session we will discuss the challenges of service delivery and support facing IT managers today, and explore how the ITIL process-based framework assists managers to improve their ongoing operations. Whether your goal is improving the quality of service, compliance, or increasing efficiencies, process-based management of IT Services will be a part of the solution.

Identity, Account and Access Management: Where are we and where do we want to go?

Identity is a fundamental attribute of people and objects. How identity is managed on ICI campuses to provide access to network- and computer-based services plays a significant role on the workload of the IT staff. Is the account provisioning process automated and coupled with you school’s enterprise management application? Does your school have a single sign-on environment?  Is the IT organization notified in a timely fashion when accounts should be created or deleted? This session will be a panel discussion on how several ICI schools manage identity (computer accounts and access) and how identity management can be important beyond the local computing environment.

Honing Your Leadership Style(s)

What kind of leader are you? Are you more of a consensus builder, team builder, or dictator?  What kind of leader do you need to be to fit the needs of those you lead?  Do you know that what works well to manage technical projects and technology may not be the best to lead people?  Do you know what style works well for people over 50 or under 35?

This session will identify seven valid styles of leadership.   We will talk about what style works well for different situations and groups of people.  You will leave with a better understanding of your natural style as well as what different people may anticipate from you.
