Getting to Valparaiso University

Directions:

From Interstate 65:

In Merrillville, pick up US 30 East. Proceed about 12 miles to Valparaiso. Turn left at the stoplight at State Road 130 (Sturdy Road) by Kelsey's Steak House and the Speedway Station. Go 1/4 mile to Valpo's main entrance on your left.
From Interstate 80/90 or 94:

In Chesterton, exit at Indiana 49 South and go about 10 miles and turn on to US 30 West. Go west about 1/4 mile and turn right on to State Road 130 (Sturdy Road) at the stoplight by Kelsey's Steak House and the Speedway Gas Station. Go 1/4 mile to Valpo's main entrance on your left.
Planes, Trains, and Buses:

Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, known as the "busiest airport in the world," is approximately 75 miles from Valparaiso. Chicago's Midway Airport is approximately 50 miles from Valparaiso, and South Bend's Michiana Regional Airport is about 45 miles from Valparaiso. Transportation from O'Hare and Midway to neighboring Merrillville is available via the Tri-State Bus Lines. Call Valpo's Admissions Office for further information or call Tri-State Bus Lines at 800-248-8747. [NOTE: be sure you check with us before making your airline reservations!]

The South Shore Train Line services Northwest Indiana from Chicago to South Bend's Michiana Regional Airport. The train station closest to Valparaiso is "Dune Park" in Chesterton, Indiana, about 15 miles away. Call 800-356-2079 for more information.

Transportation from the Michiana Regional Airport to neighboring Portage is available via United Limo Service (800-833-5555).
