The Independent Colleges of
Indiana is pleased to announce a free seminar
on intellectual property and technology transfer for
independent colleges. Our purpose is to identify
member campus leaders with interests in this area,
coming together to network, learn, and discuss these
topics:
-
When does the faculty or
staff member own the intellectual property and
possible commercial rights to developed
coursework, books, software, inventions or other
creations? What rights of ownership and revenues
may accrue to the institution?
-
How might the institution
assure the protection of those developments on
behalf of the person or institution to pave the
way for commercialization and future revenue?
-
How might an institution
leverage these opportunities to attract faculty
and students and gain additional institutional
visibility?
-
Where most ICI member
campuses may struggle to adequately define
intellectual property or support the
commercialization of it, might there be a
collaborative approach that would provide
services and leadership for all campuses?
Who should attend:
Provosts, Academic Deans or Vice Presidents of
Academic Affairs, faculty involved with innovation,
research and subsequent commercialization, senior
business and finance leaders.
Friday, January 15, 2010
10 AM to 2 PM – lunch will be provided
