The Annual Report of Giving, showing all donors to Independent Colleges of Indiana, is part of ICI’s Indiana College Guidebook; the last three editions are linked below for your information (Adobe .pdf format). ICI’s general giving categories—along with targeted funds and other options—are included.

Investment Opportunities through the Independent Colleges:

  • An undesignated grant to be distributed equally to our 31 member institutions, to be used at their discretion for priority needs such as student aid, securing faculty, modernizing facilities, improving technology, and other budget relieving applications

  • A designated grant to be distributed to one or more named member institutions, with at least three member campuses receiving proceeds.

  • A grant to be distributed equally to each member institution specifically for their respective scholarship fund.

  • A grant to be used in a competitive application process, where, e.g., scholar in the name of the donor would be designated at specific colleges pursuant to selected locations or fields of interest. We invite donor personnel to participate as judges.

  •  A grant targeted to a specific program area such as political science, nursing, teaching, financial literacy, access to education, or one of many such subjects.

  • A combination of the above:  For example, a gift might be made as an undesignated grant, thereby connecting the donor to all 31 campuses, plus one or more scholarships to be awarded through a competitive application process.

There are many combinations of approaches that might be used. We would be pleased to organize and administratively manage any approach selected.

Additional matters to consider:

1.  We distribute 100 percent of all contributions to students for scholarships or to our member colleges—we do not deduct any administrative costs.

2.  The easiest way to invest in independent higher education is to simply write a check to Independent Colleges of Indiana for an undesignated gift: many donors like to connect with all 31 campuses by investing in that manner.

3.  An internship might complement a scholarship gift, giving the donor the opportunity to work with a student and possible future employee.

4. Our office will happily handle all administrative tasks, including contacting appropriate media for publicity.

5.  We are flexible! We can modify any of the above approaches to better suit the donor’s interests and strategic focus.
