Executive Assistant to the President

 The Independent Colleges of Indiana, Inc. (ICI) seeks applications from talented executive assistant candidates. As one of America’s premier consortia of private, nonprofit colleges and universities, ICI supports its 31 member institutions through a comprehensive array of professional services including: public policy advocacy, media and public relations, research, collaborative partnerships, and resource enhancement. ICI acts state-wide from offices located in downtown Indianapolis.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and executive-support related tasks and will be able to work independently with the understanding that schedules may extend beyond normal hours during peak times. This person must be exceedingly well-organized, flexible and enjoy the challenges of supporting a dynamic office.

The demonstrated ability to joyfully interact with all in a fast-paced environment sometimes under
pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of
professionalism and confidentiality, is crucial to this role.


MUST HAVE

• Excellent travel and calendar management skills
• Experience with coordination of complex executive meetings and event planning
• Strong knowledge of board governance and aptitude for supporting ICI interactions with the board
• Knowledge of electronic messaging, website maintenance, membership management software, and
interfacing with IT support
• Expert-level written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and strong decision making
ability
• Ability to review and summarize miscellaneous reports and documents; prepare background documents
and outgoing communication (on paper and electronically) as necessary
• Ability to anticipate, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through on
issues in a timely manner
• Strong knowledge of MS Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Mac OSX and
higher, digital filing, and basic HTML
• Ability to interface with public and staff by phone and email with diplomacy, courtesy, and efficiency

STRONGLY PREFER
• 3+ years’ experience supporting at the executive level (or equivalent) in a professional services, higher
education or marketing environment
• Bachelor’s degree from an ICI member institution is especially appealing
