INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – This fall, Indiana’s 31 private, nonprofit colleges will answer important college prep questions for high school students with quick videos made by admissions counselors, students, and others on college campuses. The campaign, 31 Answers to Your Questions About College, will conclude with a chance for students to win one of two $5,000 scholarships.
One of ICI’s corporate partners, F.A. Wilhelm Construction Co., Inc., sponsored the two Wilhelm Construction 31 Answers Scholarships, which can be used at any of Indiana’s 31 private, nonprofit (ICI) colleges after the recipients graduate high school.
31 Answers to Your Questions About College was born after conversations with high school guidance counselors showed a need for a one-stop resource for the most common questions students and their families have when thinking about college.
This campaign runs weekdays from Sept. 19 to Oct. 31, and covers questions from “Can I afford to go to a private college?” to “What if I don’t know what I want to major in?” and “How and where can I find scholarships?” Each question is answered by one or more representatives from all of Indiana’s 31 private colleges and universities, giving students first-hand advice from the experts.
Each day of the campaign, a new video answer will be posted to www.indianacolleges31.com, along with English and Spanish transcriptions of the videos and additional resources. Students who visit the site can also enter to win one of three daily prizes.
“31 Answers is a resource that high school guidance counselors, students and parents have sought,” said Richard Ludwick, president and CEO of ICI. “We're happy to provide easy-to-understand answers to sometimes hard questions. We’re in the business of meeting students’ needs by making college affordable and easy to navigate.”
The 31 Answers website and videos will remain a reliable resource for students and their families into the future, even after the campaign itself ends on October 31.
Independent Colleges of Indiana serves as the collective voice for the state’s 31 private, nonprofit colleges and universities. ICI member institutions enroll some 100,000 students (approximately 17 percent of all undergraduates statewide) and annually produce 32 percent of all bachelor’s degrees in Indiana. Information about ICI is available at www.icindiana.org.
