Founded in 1890, the University of Saint Francis is a Catholic university in the Franciscan tradition with enrollment that exceeds 2,300 students.
It offers over 70 undergraduate and graduate academic programs in four schools: Keith Busse School of Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership, School of Creative Arts, School of Health Sciences, and School of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Each school has achieved specialty accreditation. Students participate in a total of 16 intercollegiate sports. USF is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
Undergraduates receive strong preparation in essential science, mathematics and critical thinking for an increasingly competitive workplace. The university purchased a 2,000 seat theatre in 2012 to grow a future downtown Fort Wayne campus plus provide a venue for university and public shows, concerts and lectures. The university has a second Indiana site focusing on healthcare degrees in Crown Point.
The Nationwide Survey for Student Engagement, a nationwide study measuring student and faculty interaction, concluded that USF outperforms the majority of Midwest private schools and more than 600 universities across the country. Students reported that the close relationship with dedicated faculty is among their most valued USF qualities. Within six months of graduation, approximately 94 percent of USF graduates find themselves employed or pursuing an additional degree.
Online programs including MBA and Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN) allow adult students to expand their career opportunities while balancing home and work. The master’s degree in environmental science is a premier regional program, equipping graduates to monitor a green and environmentally conscious manufacturing sector. USF is also home to healthcare programs of high repute, including nursing, physical therapist assistant and physician assistant.
Tranquil Mirror Lake lies at the heart of the University of Saint Francis’ picturesque 108-acre campus. Located in Indiana’s second-largest city on the former estate of industrialist John H. Bass, the campus makes historic Brookside, the family mansion, its centerpiece.
