Ici earns one of top three stem awards
Grants Aimed at STEM Teacher Recruitment and Training
Governor Mike Pence recently announced that ICI has received one of the top three STEM grants, funded by the General Assembly and administered by the Indiana Education Roundtable. [For the Roundtable’s complete release, click here.]
ICI’s $1.5 M STEM TEACH award is aimed at increasing the number of highly qualified teachers (both per-service and in-service) in Indiana in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The grant funds will cover tuition for participants, teacher completion awards, textbooks, professor honoraria, and course development, as well as administrative costs.
Participating ICI colleges and universities will begin offering programming in Fall 2014. ICI will hold three regional meetings for its member colleges and universities the last week of February about participating in this initiative.
