Financial Aid Makes the Difference
Where It Comes From
Does “private” = “pricey”? NO! Here’s why. The net price (actual money paid) is almost always much lower than the sticker price (advertised cost) at Indiana’s 31 private, non-profit colleges and universities. Financial aid makes the difference with nearly every ICI student getting need-based and/or merit-based aid.
ICI colleges are increasingly committed to their students as shown by the chart below. Over the past 5 years, aid from ICI colleges to students increased more than 50%, making up 82% of the total. Federal aid comprises 12% and state aid is 6% of the current total respectively.
Everyone benefits from financial aid, even those not in college. Higher graduation rates, more and better jobs, professional and graduate pursuits, and enhanced civic engagement are all direct, societal enhancing results of financial aid that make Indiana more competitive. Financial aid MAKES THE DIFFERENCE!
