Independent Colleges Indiana

ENROLLMENT, 2001-2013

Steady Growth and Wide Fluctuation

Total college enrollment grew by nearly one-third in Indiana from 2001 to 2013. More than 20,000 additional students chose one of Indiana’s private colleges and universities, growing ICI to more than 20% of the total. The publics, in contrast, experienced wide fluctuations, with the four-year publics dropping by almost 10% in market share and the two-year publics increasing by almost that same amount.
