ICI Students Visit the Statehouse

Making It Personal

Indiana is fortunate. State aid for college students with financial need has strong bipartisan support, allowing Hoosiers the freedom to use state grants to attend their “best fit” college, whether private or public. This bipartisan spirit was in full display when ICI students visited the State House in February and March for two of three such days during the budget session. The final ICI Student Lobby Day is scheduled for April 7.

Pictured above are students with Rep. Bill Friend and below with Rep. Ed DeLaney. These events allow students to thank their hometown legislators and share their personal stories about how state aid has made it possible for them to attend and stay in college; ask for their legislators' continued support of this critical program; and experience how they can participate in the legislative process to advocate for a cause they believe in.
