Indiana Schools Among Best in National Rankings

The University of Notre Dame, DePauw University, Wabash College and Butler University were ranked tops among Indiana schools in their respective categories in a publication’s rankings of the best colleges in the nation. U.S. News and World Report says it ranks schools based on “hard objective data alone,” including outcomes, financial resources and student excellence. The publication weighs various indicators to determine the final rankings of each category.

The Indiana schools listed in the National Universities category are:

  • 18. University of Notre Dame
  • 56. Purdue University
  • 89. Indiana University
  • 171. Ball State University
  • 194. IUPUI
  • 230-301. Indiana State University

The Indiana schools listed in the National Liberal Arts Colleges category are:

  • 56(tie). DePauw University
  • 56(tie). Wabash College
  • 81. Earlham College
  • 95. St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame
  • 113. Hanover College
  • 143. Franklin College
  • 173-229. Holy Cross College in Notre Dame
  • Martin University is unranked, but is listed in the category
